Josh Kirkland, Ken Kurtz Named to VaSID All-State College Division Men's Soccer Team

Junior forward Josh Kirkland and senior goalie Ken Kurtz has been named to the 2021 Virginia Sports Information Directors College Division Men's Soccer Team, released on Wednesday.

Kirkland, an all-region selection this fall, gained C2C Offensive Player of the Year after leading the Eagles with seven goals and two assists in 17 contests. Four of Kirkland's scores were game winners, coming against Shenandoah, Lynchburg, Catholic, and St. Mary's. All but one of his scores were the first of the game for the Eagles, with the other being his second goal of the game in a 2-0 win over Catholic.

Kurtz gains all-state honors for the third straight season, leading the Eagle defense with a 0.77 goals-against average and five shutouts in 13 games. UMW's all-time shutouts leader, Kurtz has made 30 saves in garnering seven victories, pushing his career win total to 34.
