Senior men's basketball standout Anias Saunders has been named as the B101.5 UMW Male Student Athlete of the Month for December/January, marking his second straight month of claiming the award.

Saunders has led the Eagles to a 15-4 record, including an 8-2 mark for the award period. He reached double figures in nine of 10 games, including 30 in a victory over Albright and 29 in a win over Goucher. In all, the senior averaged 17.1 points per game. He was named as the Coast 2 Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second time this seaosn in late December.
