UMW Field Hockey Falls at #6 Salisbury in C2C Semifinal

The University of Mary Washington field hockey team dropped a 6-1 decision at sixth-ranked Salisbury University on Wednesday evening in the semifinal of the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Tournament. UMW closes the season wih a record of 10-9.

Salisbury opened the game by jumping out to a 3-0 advantage in the first quarter. The Sea Gulls added another to open the second, before the Eagles reached the scoreboard with a tally by Grayson Scott, who led the conference in scoring during the regular season. The score remained 4-1 through three quarters, before the Sea Gulls added a pair late for the 6-1 final margin.

Salisbury led in shots, 15-4, as well as penalty corners, 9-6. UMW goalkeeper Bailey McNabb made three saves on the day.

The Eagles finish with a record of 10-9, doubling last year's win total.
