UMW Field Hockey Falls to #5 Salisbury, 2-0, on Saturday

The University of Mary Washington field hockey team dropped a 2-0 decision to fifth-ranked Salisbury University on Saturday at a rainy Battleground. The Eagles slip to 8-6 on the season.

In a game that saw the Eagle defense shine, the game remained scoreless through the first and second quarters. The Sea Gulls connected for a pair of goals in the third to take the outcome of the day.

Salisbury led in shots, 14-5, as well as in penalty corners, 8-3. Eagle goalkeeper Bailey McNabb made nine saves on the day to lead the defensive effort.

UMW will be back in action on Monday when the Eagles host Denison University at 10:00 a.m.
