UMW Men’s Cross Country Finishes Third at CAC Championships

The University of Mary Washington men's cross country team finished third at the 2019 Capital Athletic Conference Championships held in York, Pa., on Saturday morning. Senior Jeff Gibson took the top spot for the Eagles placing second overall with a time of 26:43.93.

Sophomore Matt O'Cadiz placed 13th overall at 28:12.67, junior Dillon Schweers finished 14th at 28:13.44, freshman Patrick Murphy took 20th at 28:38.33, and freshman Patrick Brown placed 21st at 28:39.11.

York won the title with 36 points, edging Christopher Newport's 46 points. UMW placed third with 68 points, followed by Southern Virginia with 94 points, and Salisbury with 119 points. Michael Myers from Southern Virginia University took medalist honors with a time of 26:36.67.
