UMW Cross Country Teams Compete at Rowan Inter-Regional Border Battle on Saturday

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Rowan University Inter-Regional Border Battle on Saturday in Glassboro, N.J. The men finished 17th among 29 schools, while the women took 18th among 27.

The Eagle men were led by senior Jeff Gibson, who finished 13th overall at 24:36. Freshman Patrick Brown finished 81st overall in the individual race at 25:57, and was followed by freshman Patrick Murphy in 121st at 26:32, junior Dillon Schweers in 126th at 26:35, and sophomore Matthew O'Cadiz in 134th at 26:39.

On the women's side, sophomore Camy Delean finished 45th at 22:51, and junior Ashley Applegate finished 67th at 23:13. Freshman Grace Pippin was 104th at 24:01, sophomore Kenzie Lloyd was 120th at 24:17, and sophomore Amber Zipfel finished 125th at 24:25 to round out the Eagles' top five.

Both teams will be back in action on November 2 at the CAC Championships at York College of Pa. at 10:00 a.m.
