FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Coming off its fourth Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) title in the last eight seasons, York was selected as the preseason favorite in the 2019 CAC Men's Cross Country Preseason Poll. The Spartans received four first-place votes and 24 points to earn top billing in a vote among the conference head coaches.
Christopher Newport secured second place in the voting with 21 points and the remaining two first-place nods. Mary Washington ranked third with 16 points, followed by Southern Virginia (13 points) and Salisbury (11) in fourth and fifth, respectively. St. Mary's rounded out the balloting in sixth with five points.
The 2019 season begins on Friday, Aug. 30. The CAC Championships will be hosted by York College of Pennsylvania on Saturday, Nov 2, with regionals and nationals set for Nov. 16 & Nov. 23, respectively.
