UMW Men’s Cross Country Places 11th at NCAA Regional Meet; Gibson off to Nationals

The University of Mary Washington men's cross country team placed 11th at the NCAA Division III South-Southeast Regional meet in Rome, Ga. on Saturday morning. 

Junior Jeff Gibson finished in second place at the meet posting a time of 25:35.92 and falling by just four-seconds to the winner. Gibson earned All-Region honors and will race in the NCAA Division III National Championships in Oshkosh, Wisc. on November 17 for the second straight year.

Freshman Blake Mason took 55th place with a time of 27:29.80, while freshman Matt O'Cadiz placed 90th at 28:12.04. Junior Austin Jones came in 101st at 28:27.06 and sophomore Miles Spence finished just four spots behind Jones with a time of 28:32.79.
