UMW Volleyball Tops Salisbury, 3-0, in CAC Semifinal

The University of Mary Washington volleyball team topped Salisbury University, 3-0, in the semifinal round of the 2019 Capital Athletic Conference tournament in Fredericksburg, VA., on Saturday evening. The Eagles improve to 16-12 on the season, and will travel to Christopher Newport University for the CAC Championship at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Senior Savannah Powers led the team with 12 kills on the night.

UMW made quick work of this match as they jumped ahead early in all three sets to pull away. The Eagles hit .255 as a team, recording 35 kills on 102 attacks. UMW had eight total blocks on the evening. 

To go along with Powers' 12 kills, she also added six digs and three service aces. Senior Peyton Dunow added eight kills and five digs for the Eagles. Tenley Hares had six kills and zero errors on thirteen attacks. Kendal Hall led the team in digs with 21, while Wren Berry dished out 27 assists.

UMW will look to avenge their two previous losses to CNU and defeat them in the CAC Championship on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Newport News, VA.
