UMW Volleyball Drops Opener at Franklin & Marshall in Four Games

The University of Mary Washington volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision at Franklin & Marshall College on Friday night in the 2019 season opener. Game scores were 25-19, 14-25, 25-20, 25-23.

The Eagles were led by the senior duo of Peyton Dunow and Savannah Powers. Dunow scored 15 kills against just three errors, while adding 11 digs, and Powers scored 15 kills against just one error. Junior Tenley Hares added nine kills against three errors.

Junior Wren Berry scored 34 assists, and junior Maya Takashima added 14 digs to lead the squad. The Eagles hit .325 as a team, with 53 kills against 13 errors in 123 attempts. 

The Eagles will return to action on Saturday when they face Arcadia at noon and Geneseo at 2:30 pm at F&M in Lancaster, Pa.
