The University of Mary Washington women's tennis team defeated Southern Virginia University, 9-0, in Coast 2 Coast Athletic Conference action on Wednesday at the Edward Hegmann Tennis Facility. The Eagles improve to 6-1 overall, 5-0 vs. Division III schools, and 1-0 in C2C league action.
The Eagles quickly moved through doubles, as Abby Moghtader and Lauren Quinn won at one, 8-2, Claire Coleman and Amanda Hagino won at two, 8-1, and Hana Kimmey and Olivia Moore were victorious at three, 8-2.
In singles play, Moghtader won at one, 6-1, 6-2, Coleman won at two, 6-1, 6-1, and Hagino won at three, 6-0, 6-0. Rachel Cooper took her match at four, 6-1, 6-0, Sophie Dixon won at five, 6-1, 6-2, and Riley smith won at six, 6-0, 6-0.
The Eagles will be back in action on April 11 at Towson University at 2:00 p.m.
