#19 UMW Women's Tennis Tops Southern Va., TCNJ on Saturday

The 19th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team took a pair of matches, from Southern Virginia University and the College of New Jersey, on Saturday to improve to 9-2 on the season. The Eagles topped the Knights, 9-0, before taming the Lions, 7-2.

In the Southern Virginia match, the Eagles swept doubles, with Danielle Mirabella and Claire Coleman winning at one, 8-2, Olivia Moore and Sophie Dixon winning at two, 8-1, and Rachel Cooper and Emily Bowerman winning at three, 8-5.

In singles, Coleman won at one, 6-1, 6-0, Quinn won at two, 6-0, 6-2, and Mirabella took three at 6-0, 6-1. Dixon won at four, 6-2, 6-0, Moore won at five, 6-0, 6-0, and Emily Bowerman won at six, 6-0, 6-1.

In the TCNJ victory, the Eagles gained wins in doubles from Quinn and Rachel Summers at one, 8-3, Mirabella and Coleman at two, 8-4, and Moore and Dixon, 8-1, at three.

In singles, Coleman won at two, 6-0, 6-0, Quinn won at three, 6-1, 6-2, Dixon won at five, 6-3, 6-0, and Cooper won at six, 6-4, 3-6, 10-4.

The Eagles will return to action on Sunday, when they host Frostburg State University and Wisconsin-Whitewater.
