#18 UMW Women’s Tennis Downs Salisbury, 8-1, on Friday

The eighteenth-ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team defeated Salisbury University 8-1, on Friday afternoon in Salisbury, Md. The Eagles improve to 15-4 overall, and go undefeated in the CAC with a record of 7-0.

UMW took a two games to one advantage on Salisbury after doubles play. Kait Brogan and Ashley Barrow won at one doubles 8-3, while Sophie Dixon and Rachel Cooper won at three doubles 8-1. The Seagulls took two doubles 8-3.

In singles action, the Eagles swept all six matches winning them all in only two sets. Brogan won at one singles 6-3, 6-1; Rachel Summers won at two singles 7-5, 6-0; Hannah Jabusch won at three singles 6-0, 6-3; Cooper won at four singles 6-1, 6-4; Addie Hinton won at five singles 6-2, 6-1; and Dixon won at six singles 7-6 (7-2), 6-2.

UMW will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to play a match at TCNJ that will begin at 10 a.m.
