The nineteenth-ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team topped Southern Virginia University, 9-0, on Tuesday afternoon in Buena Vista, Va. UMW improves to 11-4 overall, and 4-0 in the CAC.

In doubles action, UMW seized control as they won all three matches. Ashley Barrow and Kait Brogan won at one doubles 8-3; Rachel Summers and Danielle Mirabella won at two doubles 8-2; Sara Fioretti and Addie Hinton won at three doubles 8-5.

In singles action, the Eagles won all six matches over the Knights. Brogan won at one singles 6-0, 6-0; Summers won at one singles 6-1, 6-0; Mirabella won at three singles 6-2, 6-1; Hinton won at four singles 6-4, 6-3; Fioretti won at five singles 6-0, 6-1; and Emily Bowerman won at six singles 6-1, 6-2.

UMW will be back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Frostburg St. for a match at 4 p.m.
