University of Mary Washington freshman forward Kaitlyn Venzen (Fredericksburg, Va.) and senior midfielder Hope Grzebien (Glenelg, Md.) have been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region VI Team. The duo become Mary Washington's first all-region selections since Margaret Vaccaro, in 2007.
Venzen, a the 2022 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year, scored 11 goals in her freshman campaign and added one assist for 23 points. She provided the Eagles with four game-winning goals, including the game's lone score in a 1-0 win over UC Santa Cruz in the C2C tournament semifinal.
Grzebien, an all-conference selection at midfield, scored two goals and added two assists this season, including the game winning goals against Marymount and Salisbury.
