Franklin's Goal Gives UMW Women's Soccer a 1-0 Win at Greensboro

Freshman Eliza Franklin scored the game's only goal just 38 seconds into play, as the University of Mary Washington women's soccer team defeated Greensboro College, 1-0, on Sunday in Greensboro. The Eagles improve to 2-5-1 on the season.

Having struggled thus far offensively this season, the Eagles fired quickly and successfully on Sunday, with Franklin netting her first collegiate score just 38 into play. He score was assisted by senior Lindsey Hendrickson.

The Eagles dominated in shots, 21-4, and posted 11 corner kicks to none for the Pride. Senior goalie Allison Nork made three saves on the day in registering the shutout between the pipes for UMW.

The Eagles will return to action on Wednesday when they host St. Mary's College of Md at 3:00 p.m.
