Virginia Lottery's UMW Throwback Moment today looks back to December 1, 2007, when the UMW women's basketball team showed its defensive excellence, topping Hood College, 63-18, for head coach Deena Applebury's 100th career win.

The Eagles, who improved to 5-0 on the season, were led by senior All-American Liz Hickey's 15 points, nine rebounds and seven blocked shots. Junior Ashton Mitchell scored 10 points and junior Kaitie Clarkin added 10 points and seven rebounds.

UMW limited Hood to eight first half points and 10 in the second, as the Blazers shot just 6-42 from the field with 27 turnovers. The Eagles would go on to finish 28-3 on the season, win the CAC Championship, and advance to the sectional semifinals of the NCAA Tournament.
