CAC -- The Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) has announced its weekly awards following the 14th week of the 2019-20 women's basketball season. Mary Washington junior Maddie Shifflett collected CAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week recognition.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Maddie Shifflett - Mary Washington
Junior Maddie Shifflett led Mary Washington to a pair of league wins this week over Southern Virginia and St. Mary's, averaging 18.0 PPG and shooting 60% from the field. In a 49-46 win over Southern Va., she scored 12 points on 4-8 shooting, and then posted 24 points on 11-17 shooting at SMC on Saturday. She also registered seven rebounds in both games this week, adding five steals against the Seahawks.

AROUND THE LEAGUE
York freshman Bradi Zumbrum had a career week for the Spartans as York went 1-1 in two home CAC games for the week. Zumbrum began the week with a pair of career highs in the Spartans' seven point win over Salisbury. She had 14 points and pulled in 13 rebounds in her career-high 35 minutes. Zumbrum was 6-for-7 from the floor and 2-for-4 from the free throw line in the win. She also had two assists and a blocked shot in the win. She followed that with a new career high with 16 rebounds in the loss to first-place Christopher Newport. Zumbrum added four points as she was 2-for-6 from the floor in limited offensive opportunities. She also blocked a pair of shots in the game. For the week, Zumbrum averaged nine points and 14.5 rebounds per game. She shot 61.5% from the floor and added 1.5 assists and 1.5 blocked shots per game in the two contests...Salisbury sophomore Kaylee Otlowski added two more double-doubles to her season last week, totaling 24 points and pulling in 25 rebounds in games against York (Pa.) and Southern Virginia. The forward added three blocks, two steals and as assist while averaging 44.4 percent from the field. Otlowski currently sits second in the conference in total points (317), total rebounds (245) and rebound per game (10.7)...Katie Garrish led Southern Virginia in CAC play this past week that was highlighted by an impressive 18-point shooting 47.4 percent (9-of-19) from the floor while pulling down 21 rebounds at Salisbury. This is the fourth time in her career of notching 20+ rebounds. She additionally recorded a block and a steal. Against the Eagles, Garrish scored 8 points with 8 rebounds but tallied four blocks and two steals.
