The University of Mary Washington women's basketball team allowed just six second half points and scored 29 points to down Penn St.-Harrisburg College, 66-28, on senior day in Fredericksburg, VA. The Eagles improve to 11-12 overall, and 5-7 in the CAC. The seniors led the way in a key win as Jordan Pamlanye scored 15 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, Meghan Comer scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds, and Alannah Miller added five points. 

In the first 2:51 of the game, the two teams were on fire from the field and they were tied at 7-7. Emily Thompson began the scoring for the Eagles with a three-pointer, then Kayla Sakyi had a layup, and Miller followed that up with a layup of her own. The Eagles then reeled off 10 straight points over the next six and a half minutes to take a 17-7 lead. Pamlanye, Sakyi, and Comer all supplied points in that run. Penn St.-Harrisburg scored the last basket of the quarter on a three-pointer with 21 seconds left to put the score at 17-10 going into the second period.

Thompson began the second quarter with a three-pointer and then three made free throws to put the Eagles up 23-10 with 8:46 to play. The Nittany Lions scored five straight from there, until Comer knocked down a three-pointer and then a jump shot to put UMW back up double digits, 28-15. Thora Gibbs made a layup that grew the UMW lead to 17, 34-17, with 2:46 left in the half. Faith St. Clair capped the scoring in the quarter with a jump shot to put the Eagles ahead 37-22 at the half. 

UMW came out of the half on fire as they scored 11 straight points over the first 5:21 of the quarter to extend their lead to 48-22. Sakyi, Thompson, Pamlanye, and Erika Carter accounted for the points over that span. The Eagles played great defense in the quarter as they allowed just two points. UMW held a 50-24 lead going into the fourth quarter.

St. Clair began the fourth quarter with a three-point play. After a layup from the Nittany Lions, UMW went on a 13-0 run to extend their lead to 66-26 with 2:54 remaining in the game. Pamlanye, St. Clair, Gibbs, and Miller fueled that run to excite the crowd. Again the Eagles played excellent defense as they allowed just four points in the quarter, for a total of six second half points. UMW secured the win 66-28.

Thompson added 12 points, while St. Clair and Sakyi both had seven points a piece. The Eagles shot 25-53 (47.2%) from the field and made 11-15 (73.3%) from the free throw line. UMW out-rebounded PSH 43-30, and turned the Nittany Lions over 18 times. 

The Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday as they will travel to Southern Virginia for a game at 5:30 p.m.
