The University of Mary Washington women's basketball team dropped a 50-31 decision at top seeded Marymount University on Thursday evening in the semifinals of the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament. The Eagles finish with a 14-13 record.

In a matchup of two teams long known for defense, Thursday night was no different. The Saints built a 13-6 lead through the opening 10 minutes, and held a 26-9 lead at halftime. The Eagles were limited to three field goals in the first two quarters, and fell victim to 16 turnovers.

In the third quarter, the Eagles were edged, 13-11. The teams traded points through the majority of the frame, with junior Jordan Pamlanye scoring seven points in the frame. Marymount ended the quarter with back to back three pointers to widen their lead to 39-20 entering the fourth.

In the final period, both teams scored 11 points, as the Eagles could pull no closer. Freshman Tory Martin scored five points in the frame, with Pamlanye and Meghan Comer each scoring three.

In all, the Eagles shot 10-38 from the floor (26.3%), making 2-11 three point tries and 9-14 free throws. Marymount shot 35.7% from the floor (20-56), making 4-13 three pointers, and 6-7 free throws. The Saints held a 34-33 edge in rebounding, and the Eagles committed 10 more turnovers than Marymount (26-16).

Pamlanye led UMW with a double double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Marymount will host the CAC Championship on Saturday, while the Eagles see their season come to a close with a record of 14-13, their 14th consecutive winning season.
