UMW Indoor Track & Field Complete Day One at CAC Championships

The University of Mary Washington indoor track and field teams competed on day one at the 2020 CAC Championships in Newport News, Va., on Friday night. Through four events, the men stand in second place, just one point out of first, while the women stand in fifth place through six events.

For the men, the Eagles grabbed 18 points in the weight throw, as Tristan Johnson finished in first lace with a throw of 51 feet, 9.75 inches, while Luke Robertson finished second at 50 feet, 6.25 inches. Jeff Gibson finished second in the 5000 meters at 15:21.78, and the distance medley relay of Laurence Sneed, Nick Onorato, Colin Crigger, and Brandon Baumgartner took fourth at 10:39.15.

The women saw Josie Allamby take second in the high jump at five feet, 0.50 inches, Jean Woodrum was fourth in the weight throw at 46 feet, 1.25 inches, and the distance medley relay took fourth at 13:28.78.
