UMW Men's Indoor Track Finishes Fifth at Roanoke; Women Place Eighth

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the Roanoke College Bast-Cregger Invitational on Saturday. The men's team finished in fifth place, while the women placed eighth.

On the men's side, highlights included Kevin Munson finishing second in the pole vault at 14 feet, 3.25 inches, the 4000 meter distance medley relay of Laurence Sneed, Alec Biles, Colin Crigger, and Matt O'Cadiz took first at 11:18.35, and the 1600 meter sprint medley relay of Tyler Sakimura, Luke Miller, Luke Kendrat, and Chester Pruitt took first at 3:49.45. Laurence Sneed finished first in the 400 meters, at 50.69.

The women's side saw Leah Saling finish fourth in the 800 meters at 2:35.30, with Amanda Morrissey taking fifth at 2:35.91. The distance medley relay of Teresa Guzman, Caroline Joyce, Olivia Story, and Ashley Applegate finished in third place at 13:33.91.

The teams will be back in action on Friday at the VMI Winter Relays.
