UMW Indoor Track and Field Competes at Vince Brown Invitational; Mundo Ties School Mark

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the Vince Brown Invitational on Sunday in Newport News, Va. Jose Mundo tied the school indoor record in the 60 meters.

Mundo finished fifth in the finals of the 60 meters, but in the semifinal round, ran to a time of 7.05, tying the school mark. In other action, Ben Onungue finished third in the high jump at 6 feet, 0.75 inches. Daniel Forjan won the shot put at 48 feet, 1.25 inches as well as the weight throw, at 48 feet, 4.5 inches. Kevin Jones was third in the 5000 meters at 16:00.20.

Laurence Sneed took second in the 800 meters, and first among collegiate runners, at 1:59.44. Calhoun Stirling finished third in the 3000 meters at 9:13.56.

The women also had several quality results, including a first place from Kristina Tosi in the high jump at four feet, 11.75 inches; Yamina James was third in the pole vault at eight feet, 11.75 inches; and Isabella Anderegg was third in the shot put at 39 feet, 6.5 inches, and fourth in the weight throw.

Erin Andrewlevich won the 400 meter dash at 1:00.19, and also finished second in the 200 meter dash at 26.71.
