The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team hosted mroe than 20 schools this weekend at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Southeast Regional Tournament at the Hegmann Family Tennis Facility.

UMW saw junior Rishi Charan Shankar advance to the semifinal round, topping opponents from Grove City College, Haverford College, Stevens Institute, and Washington & Lee University. 

In doubles, Charan Shankar and Peter Leese topped foes from Swarthmore and Carnegie Mellon en route to the quarterfinals, and Andrew Watson and Nick Spera topped opponents from St. Mary's College and Haverford in reaching the quarterfinals. Artis Hart and Andrew Cooper won a pair of matches in reaching the round of 16.

The Eagles will return to action on February 4 against George Mason University.
