The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team swept St. Mary's College, 9-0, on Wednesday in Coast 2 Coast Athletic Conference action in St. Mary's City, Md. The Eagles improve to 5-2 overall, and 2-0 in conference play.
In doubles action, UMW's Moses Hutchison and Andrew Watson downed Sheats and Rohr, 8-0, at one, Nick Spera and Cole Tecce topped Nacva and Pratt, 8-4, at two, and Rishi Charan Shankar and Artis Hart won at three, 8-0.
In singles, Hutchison downed Rohr, 6-0, 6-1, at one; Hart defeated Sheats at two, 6-0, 6-1; and Peter Leese beat Nacva at three, 6-0, 6-1. Tecce was victorious at four, 6-2, 6-1; Charan Shankar won at five, 6-2, 6-0; and Spera won at six, 6-0, 6-0.
The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday when they visit Christopher Newport University at 1:00 p.m.
