The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team fell behind in doubles but roared back for a 5-4 victory over Southern Virginia University on Wednesday afternoon at the Edward Hegmann Tennis Facility. The Eagles improve to 4-2 overall, and 1-0 in league play.
The Knights took two of three doubles matches, with UMW gaining its point at two, where Rishi Charan Shankar and Peter Leese won, 8-6. In singles action, Charan Shankar won at three, 6-1, 6-0, Cole Tecce won at four, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, Nick Spera won at five, 6-0, 6-3, and Leese won at six, 6-2, 6-1.
The Eagles will be back in action next Wednesday when they visit St. Mary's College at 3:30 p.m.
