#15 UMW Men’s Tennis Falls to #4 Amherst, 5-1, in Third Round of the NCAA Tournament

The fifteenth-ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team fell to fourth-ranked Amherst College, 5-1, in the third round of the NCAA tournament in Amherst, MA. The Eagles conclude their season with a 23-5 record.

In doubles action, Patrick Hughes and Michael Fleming grabbed the lone point as they won 8-5 at three doubles. At both one and two doubles, Amherst won 8-5.

The Mammoths won at one singles 6-1, 6-3, then won at three singles 7-6, 2-6. Amherst also took four singles 6-3, 6-2. Matt Miles held the lead at two singles 7-6, 4-1 before the match was abandoned.
