The 13th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team swept a 9-0 decision from Centre College on Wednesday afternoon at the Battleground. The Eagles improve to 7-3 on the season.
Matt Miles and Moses Hutchison started with an 8-0 win at one, and Michael Fleming and Patrick Hughes followed with an 8-1 win at two. Ryland Byrd and Priyan Desilva completed the doubles sweep with an 8-4 win at two.
In singles, Miles won at one, 6-4, 6-2, and Hughes won at two, 6-4, 6-1. Byrd took a straight setter at three, 6-1, 6-1, and Joseph Brown won at four, 6-2, 6-1. Derek Hagino won at five, 6-1, 6-1, and Cole Tecce won at six, 6-0, 6-0.
The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday when they host TCNJ at 11 am and Southern Virginia at 2 pm.
