UMW Men's Swimming Slips to Fourth Place on Day Two at F & M Invitational

The University of Mary Washington men's swimming team slipped to fourth place overall after day two of events at the Franklin & Marshall College Invitational.

The Eagles 200 medley relay A team consisting of  Alex AungStephen WallachPreston Trevey, and Kai Green, finished seventh overall with a time of 1:34.78. Conrad Tan took second in a contested 400 IM at 4:10.23. Larry Almariento finished sixth in the 100 yard butterfly at 52.40, with Preston Trevey, Kai Green, and Kyle Diederich close behind with times of 52.61, 52.63, and 53.54. Boone Fleenor and Logan Dewalt were the lone Eagles who placed in the 200 yard freestyle, with times of 1:50.18 and 1:49.57, respectively. Johnathan Zimmer swam in the 100 yard breaststroke and placed third at 56.79, and was followed by Stephen Wallach, Will Burkey, Caleb Smietana, and Jack Dragone, with times of 57.61, 58.84, 59.38, and 1:00.47. The final event of the evening – the 100 yard backstroke – consisted of  Paul Datovech and Alex Aung. The sophomore and senior were inches away from each other, while ultimately receiving respective seventh and seventeenth placings with their final times of 53.29 and 54.02.

The meet will continue and conclude on Sunday.
