Shattuck Finishes Eighth, Breaks American Record in SM6 200 IM at Tokyo Paralympics

University of Mary Washington assistant swimming coach Zachary Shattuck finished second in his heat, and eighth in the final of the men's SM6 200 meter individual medley on Thursday at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. Shattuck broke the American record, topping his personal best by 1.5 seconds.

In the preliminaries, Shattuck qualified for the final by taking second in his heat, with a time of 2:49.50. In the finals, he finished eighth, with a time of 2:52.52.
