The University of Mary Washington men's swim team defeated the University of Lynchburg and Bridgewater College on Friday night in Lynchburg, improving to 2-1 on the season. The Eagles topped Lynchburg, 182-74, and Bridgewater by a 192-39 score.
The 200 medley relay started the night with a 1-2 finish, as Noah Carpenter, Aidan Deege, Alex Aung, and Garrett Ross touched first at 1:39.53. Bradley Torrington took first in the 1000 freestyle at 10:41.30, and Austin Farrar was first in the 200 free as the Eagles finished 1-2-3, with a time of 1:47.12.
Carpenter took first in the 100 yard backstroke at 55.35, Mark Dye won the 100 breaststroke at 1:02.57, and Torrington won the 200 butterfly at 1:59.00. Ross won the 50 free at 22.13, Matthew Scott won the 100 freestyle at 48.67, and Stephen Wallach won the 200 breaststroke at 2:23.28.
Carpenter took first in the 500 free at 4:55.87, Thomas Leckrone won the 100 butterfly at 51.87, Sam McKey won the 200 IM at 2:05.40, and the 200 free relay of Scott, Gareth Mancini, Leckrone, and Brian Harnish took first at 1:28.93.
The Eagles will return to action on October 26 at Howard University with Monmouth, starting at 1:00 p.m.
