UMW Men's Soccer Battles to 1-1 Tie at Stevenson

The University of Mary Washingotn men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie at Stevenson University on Tuesday afternoon in Owings Mills, Md. The Eagles move to 4-3-2 on the season.

The Eagles jumped ahead with a score from sophomore Carter Berg at 8:19, and carried a 1-0 advantage to halftime. In the second, the Mustangs evened the score at 52:07, and the game remained tied through regulation, giving Stevenson its fifth tie of the young season.

The Eagles carried a 16-9 advantage in shots, as well as a 5-4 edge in corner kicks. Sophomore goalkeeper Altan Murray made five saves in his first start for UMW.

Mary Washington will return to action on Saturday when the Eagles host Salisbury University at 1:00 p.m.
