UMW Men's Golf Tied for Third After Day One at VSGA Collegiate Championship; Bonte in First With -3

Sophomore Sebastien Bonte carded a -3 (69) to lead the field at the Virginia State Golf Association Collegiate Championship at Sleepy Hole Golf Course, as the University of Mary Washington men's golf team stands tied for third place after one round.

Bonte recorded six birdies and three bogeys in his round of 69. Junior Jason Guintu shot a 74 (+2) to start day two tied for ninth place, while Robin Yu shot a 79 (+7) to tie for 38th, and junior Phillip Manceri shot a (+8) 80 to stand in 45th. Junior Austin Matz shot an 81, while junior Ethan Kelly shot a 75 as an individual competitor.

The championship will conclude on Tuesday.
