The University of Mary Washington men's basketball team scored a season-low 48 points Saturday en route to a 65-48 conference loss at the hands of Wesley College in the William M. Anderson Center. The Eagles turned the ball over 20 times and shot only 32 percent from the field while falling to 6-7 overall and 0-2 in the Capital Athletic Conference.

The Wolverines jumped ahead of the Eagles early, taking a 15-6 advantage 10 minutes into the first half before senior guard Antonio Ortega knocked down a three to pull the Eagles within six. Mary Washington closed the gap to two on a layup by Ortega with four minutes remaining in the first, but never got closer as they failed to get into a rythym against the Wolverines full court trapping defense.

Forward Paul Reynolds led Wesley and all scorers with 21 points to go along with 12 rebounds. Forward David Langan pitched in eight points and 14 rebounds for the Wolverines, as they outrebounded the Eagles 49-34 on the afternoon.

Mary Washington was led by Sophomore guard Taylor Johnson's 13 points and six rebounds, while sophomore Sean Armstrong had 12 points to go along with eight boards. The Eagles caused 22 turnovers in the game, but were unable to turn many of the turnovers into points on the offensive end.

Mary Washington will be in action again Wednesday January 9 as they travel to Marymount University for an 8:00 tip. Wesley College improved their record to 12-4 overall and 2-1 in the conference and are in action again Wednesday as they travel to Frostburg State for a 6:00 contest.
