The University of Mary Washington men's basketball team jumped out to an early 25-6 lead and kept their foot on the pedal as they defeated N.C Wesleyan 95-66 Saturday night at the William M. Anderson Center. The Eagles took advantage of 26 Wesleyan turnovers and shot 14-29 from behind the three-point line to improve to 3-1 on the season.

On a night when the student section was empty, home for the holiday break, the Eagles lit up the scoreboard showing no ill no effects from Thursday night's Thanksgiving dinner. Senior guard Ryan Farrar (Ashburn, Va., Centreville, Va.) led the Eagles with 16 points, including five for six from behind the arc. Sophomore guard Bradley Riester (Richmond, Va., Monacan) added 15 points, going three for six from downtown and Sophomore E.J. Willis (Alexandria, Va., T.C. Williams) came off the bench to add 13 and senior Henry Brisibe (South Riding, Va., Freedom) 10 for Mary Washington.

Sophomore guard Walt Smith (Alexandria, Va., T.C. Williams) followed up Monday's triple-double at CNU with 11 assists to go along with three steals, as he continually found the Eagles shooters open on the perimeter.  Mary Washington turned in their best shooting performance of the season as they finished at just over 54 percent from the field to go with 49 percent from behind the arc.

Seniors Alex Murray (11 points) and Domarius Thomas (10 points) led the Battling Bishops as the only players in double figures. N.C. Wesleyan couldn't match the Eagles' hot shooting night as they went just 2-14 from behind the arc to fall to 3-2 on the season.

Mary Washington will be in action again Sunday afternoon as they host Shenandoah at 3 P.M.
