UMW Men's Basketball Falls at Wesley, 73-70

The University of Mary Washington men's basketball team dropped its regular season finale, 73-70, on Saturday at Wesley College, dropping UMW to 17-8 overall and 12-4 in Capital Athletic Conference action. UMW will be the second seed in next week's CAC Tournament.

The Eagles managed to stay close through thye first half despite shooting just 25% (10-40) from the field. In the second half, UMW turned on the offense, scoring 44 points despite shooting 37.9%, thanks in part to 8-17 shooting on three pointers. But Wesley shot a blistering 64% from the field to score 46 in the second half en route to the three point win.

Senior guard Mike Harvey led the Eagles with 20 points on 6-12 shooting, including 4-9 three pointers, while Bradley Riester added 17 points and Sean Armstrong 16 points and nine rebounds. Riester added eight rebounds as well. Wesley was led by Paul Reynolds' 16 points.

The Eagles will host a CAC semifinal game on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. against either Wesley College or sixth-seeded Hood College.
