Brett Longobucco Named UMW Women's Golf Coach

Brett Longobucco has been named as the women's golf coach at the University of Mary Washington.

"We look forward to having Brett Longobucco serve the department as head women's golf coach" said Director of Athletics Patrick Catullo. "Brett has proven himself to be a wonderful asset for the department, and we look forward to his leadership with the women's golf program."

Longobucco is entering his third year at UMW, and first as women's golf coach. He serves as the head strength and conditioning coach for the athletic department.

Longobucco worked for two years prior to coming to UMW at Castleton State University, and prior to that, he served as a strength and conditioning coach at the University of Miami (Fla.) as a graduate assistant coach. He worked closely with the strength and conditioning department to help design, implement and monitor a sound program for intercollegiate teams, including the nationally ranked Division I men's and women's basketball teams, women's soccer team, tennis team, crew team and swim team. He implemented and led in-season training regimens for athletes, including strength maintenance, game fitness and injury rehab/prevention work, and developed and implemented sport-specific weight training and Olympic lifts, tracking and evaluating individual and team progress and performance.

He also has experience as head strength and conditioning coach for SVM Fusion Soccer Club, director and owner of Next Level Athlete, a private strength and conditioning group, as well as head strength and conditioning coach for Miami Strike Force Premiere Soccer Club.

He began his career as an intern at Harvard University as a strength and conditioning intern.
