Bonte Takes Medalist Honors as UMW Men's Golf Finishes 5th at Shenandoah

Senior Sebastien Bonte took medalist honors with a +5 147 to lead the University of Mary Washington men's golf team to a fifth place finish at the Shenandoah University Invitational on Monday in Winchester.

Bonte shot an opening round 75 in the morning, before shooting an afternoon round of 72 for his first place score. He won the event by four strokes. Andrew Halmrast shot an 82-79=161 (+19) to tie for 20th place, and Blake Davis shot an 85-79=164 (+22) to tie for 27th. Josh Quarles shot 88-83=171 (+29) to tie for 42nd, and Jacob Dunaway shot a 101-89=190 (+48) to finish 59th.

The Eagles will be back in action next Wednesday at the VSGA Championships in Williamsburg, Va.
