Eagles Fall, 8-2, to Frostburg State on Tuesday

Fredericksburg, Va.-- The University of Mary Washington baseball team fell in CAC action on Tuesday, 8-2, to the Bobcats. James Sink led the Eagles, going 2-4 and scoring a run. UMW falls to 11-3, 2-1 CAC on the year.

UMW fell behind early, as Frostburg came out of the gates swinging. The Bobcats got two runs in the first off two singles to take a 2-0 lead. Frostburg came back in the second with two more runs, and then another in the third to jump ahead 5-0.

Brian Burns got the Eagles on the board with an RBI single to right, plating Nolan Gilbert. Two innings later, Kevin Stein got an RBI groundout, scoring James Sink to cut the deficit to just three, at 5-2.

That's all the Eagles would get, as Frostburg added two more runs in the seventh, and another in the ninth to seal the 8-2 win in Fredericksburg.

Sink had two hits for the Eagles; while Burns, Tyler Truslow, Jono Haught, and Nolan Gilbert each added one hit.

The Eagles return to action this weekend with a CAC doubleheader at Salisbury on Saturday, and return home for a double dip against St. John Fisher on Sunday.
