UMW Women’s Cross Country Places Fifth at CAC Championships

The University of Mary Washington women's cross country team placed fifth at the Capital Athletic Conference Championships held in York, Pa., on Saturday morning. Junior Ashley Applegate led the Eagles as she came in seventh overall with a time of 25:33.95.

Sophomore Cameron Delean finished right behind Applegate in eighth place overall at 25:35.72, freshman Grace Pippin took 21st at 26:44.39, sophomore Amber Zipfel placed 25th at 26:58.26, and sophomore Kenzie Lloyd finished in 27th at 27:11.06.

Christopher Newport won the title with 51 points, defeating York by just four points. Salisbury took third with 71 points, followed by Southern Virginia with 85 points, and UMW with 86 points.
