UMW Men's XC Climbs to Fifth in Latest USTFCCCA Regional Poll; Women Check in at Ninth

The University of Mary Washington men's cross country team climbed to fifth in the South/Southeast Region this week by the United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association, as released Tuesday. The Eagles climbed to fifth after previously not being in the top 10 last week. The women's team moved from sixth to ninth.

There was one notable change to the order of the top-5 teams in the South/Southeast Region between Week 5 and Week 6.

Berea (Ky.), Emory, Washington and Lee and Lynchburg are still No. 1 through No. 4, but Mary Washington climbed from the Land of the Unranked to No. 5. The Eagles, who ran well at the Rowan Inter-Regional Border Battle, are ranked in the regional top-5 for just the sixth time in the past 10 years.

The Eagle women slipped to ninth this week.
