FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Three-time defending champion York was picked as the favorite to four-peat in the 2019 Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Women's Cross Country Preseason Poll. The Spartans unanimously received five first-place votes and totaled 25 points to lead the CAC field of six cross country teams.
Christopher Newport and Mary Washington tied for the second spot in the poll with 18 points each. Salisbury claimed the final first-place vote with 15 points in fourth place. Southern Virginia finished fifth with nine points, followed by St. Mary's in sixth place with five votes.
The 2019 season begins on Friday, Aug. 30. The CAC Championships will be hosted by York College of Pennsylvania on Saturday, Nov 2, with regionals and nationals set for Nov. 16 & Nov. 23, respectively.
