UMW Women’s Cross Country Takes 6th at NCAA Regional Meet; Weisbeck to Compete at Nationals

The University of Mary Washington women's cross country team took sixth place at the NCAA Division III South-Southeast Regional meet in Rome, Ga. on Saturday morning. 

Senior Jillian Weisbeck took eighth place overall with a time of 22:57.42. That time will put her through to the NCAA Division III National Championships that will take place in Oshkosh, Wisc. on November 17. Weisbeck also gained All-Region honors. Joining Weisbeck on the All-Region team, is Emily Knerr who took 15th overall at 22:57.42.

Helping the Eagles jump four positions from last year's NCAA Regional meet were freshman Cameron Delean, sophomore Ashley Applegate, and junior Ava Robb-McCord. Delean placed 37th at 24:16.06, while Applegate finished in 43rd with a time of 24:27.34. Rounding out the top five was Robb-McCord took 59th at 24:50.02.
