Jeff Gibson Named CAC Cross Country Runner of the Week

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

Jeff Gibson | Mary Washington | Jr.

Gibson led Mary Washington at the Rowan Border Battle on Saturday, finishing in fifth place overall with a time of 25:11. He averaged a 5:04 mile pace throughout the 8k race. Gibson was the top UMW runner in the field of 394 runners from 42 schools. The Eagles finished in 20th place in the team standings. 

Men's Cross Country Honor Roll

Joey Lightbody | Christopher Newport | Sr.
Lightbody led the Captains at the UW-Oshkosh Kollege Town Invitational on Saturday. During the meet, which included 17 nationally-ranked programs, Lightbody finished 52nd among 344 runners in the 8k. The senior completed the course in 26:07.3, marking the second-best clocking of his career. 

Robert Romano | Frostburg State | Sr.
Romano was the fastest finisher of the 75 runners at the Roaring Lions Invitational at Penn State Fayette. He posted a 25:59.4 and it was his fourth win this season. As a team, FSU bested seven teams for the invite title.

Conner Masteran | Salisbury | Sr.
Masteran was the individual champion at the Hood College Invitational on Saturday, finishing in a time of 25:55, a full 33 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. This is Masteran's first win of the year, but his third top-two finish in four events.

Ray Smith | York | Sr.
Smith was York's top finisher at the Inter-Regional Border Battle hosted by Rowan. Smith finished 24th as he crossed the line in a personal best time of 25:35.3. The Spartans were the top finishing CAC team at the meet as they were 14th of 42 teams.
