UMW Men's and Women's Cross Country Competes at 58th Annual William & Mary Invite

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's cross country teams competed at the 58th annual William and Mary Invitational on Friday evening in Williamsburg, Va. The men took second place in the college division among three schools with 33 points, just one behind first place Christopher Newport's 32. The women finished second among four schools with 53 points, trailing only CNU's 18.

On the men's side, the Eagles finished 1-2 individually, as sophomore Kyle Pfohl finished first with a time of 19:53.3, and J.P. Burklow took second, at 19:55.5. Kevin Jones took seventh overall at 20:14.0, and the top five for the Eagles were rounded out by Calhoun Stirling in 10th place at 20:21.0, and Chris Markham in 13th place at 20:36.9.

The women saw Rosie Kostka place seventh in the college division at 20:24.2, Jillian Weisbeck in 10th place at 20:55.2, and Marin Bader in 11th at 20:55.3. Emily Knerr was 12th at 21:11.6, and Brianna Dolecki was 14th at 21:32.9.

The Eagles will return to action on October 1 when they visit Lehigh University at 10:00 a.m.
