UMW Men's Cross Country Places First in Division at Paul Short Invite; Women Place Fifth

The University of Mary Washington men's cross country team finished in first place among 39 schools in the White Division at the Paul Short Invitational on Friday at Lehigh University. The Eagle women finished in fifth in their division among 43 schools.

The men were led by junior Ben Sorenson, who finished fifth overall at 25:56. He was followed by Kevin Jones in 25th at 26:53, Ian Granger in 35th at 27:09, Kevin Speray in 39th at 27:12, Calhoun Stirling in 41st at 27:14, J.P. Burklow in 43rd at 27:15, and Chris Anderson in 47th at 27:18.

The women were led by senior Lauren Braney, who finished in 19th place at 23:17, followed by Colleen Boyle in 27th place at 23:36, Sam Park in 35th at 23:45, and Emily Knerr in 42nd place at 23:55. Claudia Autore was 47th at 24:00, Amanda Patterson was 53rd at 24:13, and Brianna Dolecki was 58th at 24:20.
