YORK, Pa. -- Mary Washington sophomore Teagan Young secured CAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week accolades for Sept. 30, 2014.

Mary Washington sophomore Teagan Young was named the CAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week after capturing the individual title at the Don Cathcart Invitational at Salisbury on Saturday. Young took first place honors with a time of 22:21, six seconds ahead of the second place finisher from Slippery Rock, helping the Eagles to fifth place in the team standings. She has claimed top honors in two races this fall, and added a fourth place to her resume as well.

Four teams represented the CAC at Salisbury's Don Cathcart Invitational on Saturday, while three squads competed at the Messiah Invitational ... Christopher Newport is ranked 7th in the South/Southeast Region Week 2 rankings ... Guided by sophomore Logan Harrington's third-place individual finish, CNU captured the team title at the Don Cathcart Invitational with 51 points. Junior Lydia Cromwell (5th) and sophomore Emmie Schmidt (8th) also registered top-10 placings for the Captains ... St. Mary' senior Michelle DiMenna was the top CAC finisher at the Messiah Invitational, taking 12th place, just ahead of Frostburg State sophomore Casey Columbus (13th).
