UMW Women Finish Second at St. Mary's Invite; Men Place Fifth

The University of Mary Washington women's cross country team finished in second place at the St. Mary's College Invitational on Saturday. The men placed fifth among seven competing schools.

For the women, sophomore Natalie Young finished first overall with a time of 23:41. Senior Lauren Braney finished seventh at 25:42, and classmate Tara Landy took eighth at 25:58. Claudia Autore finished 11th overall at 26:18, and freshman Marin Bader placed 14th at 26:50.

The men saw Ian Granger finish 18th at 29:15, Jamie Van Emmerik 20th at 29:29, Chris Anderson 21st at 29:34, Kevin Jones 22nd at 29:36, and Ben Sorensen 30th at 30:30.

George Washington finished first in both the men's and women's standings. The Eagles will be back in action on Septmber 20 at the Dickinson College Long-Short Invitational at 10:30 a.m.
