UMW's Teagan Young Repeats as CAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

 Mary Washington Sophomore Teagan Young Earns Repeat CAC Women's Cross Country Weekly Honor

YORK, Pa. -- Mary Washington sophomore Teagan Young nabbed CAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors for Oct. 7, 2014.

Mary Washington sophomore Teagan Young was named the CAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the second straight week after claiming second place at the Paul Short Invitational last Saturday. Young crossed the line in 21:39, finishing behind only a Division II runner from California University of Pennsylvania. Her second-place finish in a field of over 300 runners helped the Eagles secure second out of 35 in the team standings. She has finished in the top four of every race for the Eagles this season.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Three CAC squads are regionally ranked by the USTFCCCA in the Week 4 rankings. Christopher Newport is 4th and Mary Washington 8th in the South/Southeast, while York returned to the Mideast rankings this week at No. 9 ... Christopher Newport's Logan Harrington completed the 5k at Willamette's Charles Bowles Invitational in 18:54.2, which marks the program's fifth-fastest clocking at that distance and the best since 2001 ... Frostburg State captured the team title at the Aaron Slafka Memorial Cross Country Invitational hosted by Pitt-Greensburg. Senior Bryn Allston finished second individually for the Bobcats ... York senior Jess Miller led the Spartans to a fourth-place team finish in the White race at the Paul Short Invitational. Miller placed eighth individually at 22:42.
