UMW Cross Country Competes at Dickinson Long-Short Invitational

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Dickinson College Long-Short Invitational on Saturday morning.

Junior Nick Eghtessad was the Eagles' top finisher in the 8,000 meter race, crossing the line in 41st place with a time of 27:23. Freshman Ben Sorenson was UMW's top male in the 6,000 meters, placing 33rd overall.

For the women, Lauren Braney was UMW's top finisher in the 6,000 meter race, in ninth place at 23:33. Sophomore Natalie Young was the top finisher in the 4,000 meter race, finishing fourth overall at 14:28.

Both teams will be back in action next Saturday at the Salisbury University Invitational at 10:30 a.m.
